‘Pawn Stars’ Celebrity Rick Harrison Blames Border Crisis For Son’s Death

Rick Harrison, the lead in the hit reality show “Pawn Stars,” blamed his 39-year-old son’s overdose death on the crisis along the southern border.

“Yes, I can confirm Adam died from a fentanyl overdose,” the 58-year-old businessman told the New York Post in a Monday statement. As TMZ reported earlier Monday, “the Harrison family found out on Friday that Adam died from a fatal overdose.”

“The fentanyl crisis in this country must be taken more seriously,” Harrison told the Post. “It seems it is just flowing over the borders and nothing is being done about it. We must do better.”

Fentanyl seizures by Customs and Border Protection (CBP) are up 860 percent since 2019, according to ABC News.

Last week, House Republicans convened their second impeachment hearing for Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas over his failures related to the border. Josephine Dunn, whose daughter died from fentanyl poisoning, was a featured witness at the hearing and similarly blamed the administration’s open-border policies for the family tragedy.

“In my humble opinion, Mr. Mayorkas’ border policy is partially responsible for my daughter’s death,” Dunn said.

On Monday, the Supreme Court sided with the Biden administration on a contentious Texas case wherein state officials objected to the federal government’s efforts to cut through razor wire along the border.
