If Feds Want To Jawbone Big Tech, Congress Should Make Them Do It Out In The Open

Published

on

The Supreme Court’s refusal on standing grounds to reach the merits in Murthy v. Missouri has made clear that the remedy for executive branch suppression of speech through private companies will not come from the courts. This means that if you believe as we do that government has no business dictating what information should be censored in the modern-day public square — social media websites — the remedy lies with Congress.

The very idea of the government silencing American voices online reeks of authoritarianism and undermines the principles of self-government. Social media companies are not extensions of the state. They are private entities with their own terms of service and community guidelines. Any attempt by the government to coerce them into censoring certain information sets a dangerous precedent that threatens the fabric of our society.

Murthy is a perfect example of this alarming trend. Surgeon General Murthy’s attempt to force the removal of specific posts related to Covid-19 treatments from social media websites was nothing short of censorship. And we now know for a fact that much of the Covid-related information that the government disapproved of and demanded that social media companies censor — for example, the lab-leak hypothesis, the inefficacy of masks, the lack of any scientific basis for the six-foot rule — was either true or, at a minimum, fairly debatable.

Sadly, this is far from the only example of government coordination with companies to censor certain information or voices. The campaign to censor discussion of the Hunter

The Media Made Sure This Election Was Never Going To Be Free Or Fair

Published

on

It’s truly awe-inspiring to watch the news media berate Republicans, down to the very end, over the “free and fair” election we’re most certainly not about to have. Everyone who’s honest knows this wasn’t fair. The media made sure from the beginning that it never would be.

I’m curious as to how they expect this country to have a normal election ever again. “Normal” has nothing to do with Donald Trump referring to “the enemy within,” his rightful broadside against Liz Cheney as a cowardly warmonger, or any other fake controversy the media created to assist in their campaign to elect Kamala Harris. Those are deceptions propagated for the purpose of ignoring real scandals, incompetencies, and negligence permitted by the Kamala-Biden administration.

I’m talking about an election like those in the good old days where one side didn’t use government and corporate power to censor, imprison, and nearly murder its opponents. We know which side did all of that this time around, and yet CNN, The New York Times, and all the rest have glided along, only stopping to ask Republicans if they’ll accept a Kamala victory without question or otherwise brazenly lie about things that are demonstrably true.

Our corrupt media swear the only personal investment they have in this election is ensuring it will be “fair” and consequently end with a peaceful transfer of power, concepts they have worked all along to erode and undermine with not a sliver of regret.

They care about fairness the same way

Exclusive: Texas, Georgia Election Data Shatters Democrats’ Voter ID Lies

Published

on

It’s no secret that Democrats lie about commonsense election safeguards — especially voter ID laws.

While supported by the vast majority of Americans, these requirements, leftists baselessly argue, are evil because they suppress voters’ ability to cast ballots in any given election. In 2021, for example, Kamala Harris attempted to justify her opposition to such laws by outlandishly claiming voters — specifically those living in rural areas — have no way of making photocopies of their ID cards.

“I don’t think that we should underestimate what that [compromise on voter ID laws] could mean,” Harris said. “Because in some people’s mind, that means you’re going to have to Xerox or photocopy your ID to send it in to prove who you are. Well, there are a whole lot of people, especially people who live in rural communities, who don’t — there’s no Kinkos, there’s no OfficeMax near them.”

While it’s unclear what century the vice president believes we’re living in, Democrats’ insinuation that voters are too stupid to know how to acquire an acceptable form of ID to vote is not only insulting; it’s completely unsupported by the facts.

In a new report obtained by The Federalist, the Honest Elections Project (HEP) demonstrates how voter data from recent elections in Texas and Georgia disproves the left’s phony narrative that requiring eligible electors to provide ID when voting by mail “suppresses” their ability to participate in the electoral process.

“As the use of VBM [vote by mail] increases,

NBC Forced To Give Trump Airtime After Violating FCC Rules With Harris SNL Spot

Published

on

NBC News was forced to give former President Donald Trump airtime on Sunday after the outlet violated Federal Communications Commission (FCC) rules by giving Vice President Kamala Harris a spot on Saturday Night Live (SNL).

The roughly 60-second Trump ad came Sunday toward the end of NBC’s broadcast of NASCAR’s Xfinity 500 at Martinsville Speedway.

Trump, donning a “Make America Great Again” hat, highlighted the failed economic policies of the Biden-Harris administration, the recent disastrous jobs report, and warned a “depression” was looming.

“We have to straighten out our country, we have to close our borders, we have to lower our taxes, we have to get rid of inflation,” Trump said as he stood in front of several American flags. “And we’re going to do it. Just remember, Kamala and her friends broke it — I’ll fix it.”

But the seemingly last-minute ad slot provided to Trump doesn’t compare to the blatant election interference NBC News engaged in on Saturday when it provided Harris with a very pro-Kamala 90-second time slot.

SNL opened by making a mockery of Trump and vice presidential hopeful J.D. Vance before Maya Rudolph — playing Harris — began shilling for the Democrat ticket. Nearly six and a half minutes into the obvious Harris ad, Harris herself appears to give words of wisdom to the fake Harris.

“I’m just here to remind you, you got this, because you can do something your opponent cannot do — you can open doors,” Harris says to Rudolph, before Rudolph
