GOP Senators Betray Tuberville Over Protest Of Pentagon’s Abortion Extremism

Several GOP senators led by Alaska Sen. Dan Sullivan shamelessly took to the Senate floor on Wednesday evening to attack Alabama Sen. Tommy Tuberville’s protest of the Pentagon’s use of U.S. taxpayer dollars to subsidize service members’ abortion.

“I’m as pro-life as they come. I strongly disagree with what [Defense] Secretary Austin [and] President Biden have done with their politicization of the military on a whole host of fronts, including the abortion policy, which I think is illegal,” Sullivan said before explaining why he thinks Tuberville should abandon his protest of the policy.

The Alaska senator was joined in his attack by GOP Sens. Joni Ernst of Iowa, Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, Todd Young of Indiana, and Mitt Romney of Utah.

Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin announced back in February that the Pentagon would financially cover abortion-related travel expenses for service members and their dependents. To prevent U.S. taxpayer dollars from being used to subsidize the killing of unborn babies, Tuberville, using his position on the Senate Armed Services Committee, initiated a protest that slow-walks military promotions requiring Senate confirmation.
