A Democrat’s Ultimate Free Pass: ‘Especially Black And Brown People’

Word got around that if you’re a Democrat, especially a black or brown one, the surefire way to evade any accountability is to use some variation of the phrase, “especially black and brown people …” It works better than bleach.

During a press conference last week, a reporter asked Democrat Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson about the $30,000 in campaign funds he spent in just one year on haircuts and makeup. “I think it’s always appropriate to make sure we’re investing in small businesses,” said the former teacher union boss, “especially minority-owned, black-owned, women-owned businesses.”

For good measure, he invoked the sacred incantation again. “Our campaign spends money on food,” he said. “We support black- and brown-owned businesses, women-owned businesses.” And a third: “Go get your hair and makeup done — by black people, in particular.”

See? By not just noting his support for small business, but especially ones owned by black and brown people, Johnson was able to clear himself of any suspected misconduct.

Back in January, Rep. Ayanna Pressley, D-Mass., promoted a White House proposal to cap bank overdraft fees, writing on Twitter, “For too long, banks have used overdraft fees to line their pockets and punish people simply for being poor, especially Black & brown folks.”

Shut up! They are poor and they are especially black and poor, and they are especially brown and poor, and that is that.
