When a unanimous Supreme Court struck down their efforts to boot a former president from the ballot, Democrats and NeverTrumpers in media and elsewhere could have stepped back, reevaluated their position, and realized that maybe they’re the ones who are out of touch. Instead, they doubled down — and their meltdowns decrying even the court’s left-most justices as pro-Trump extremists confirm that they’ve completely lost their grip on reality.
Former MSNBC host Keith Olbermann was one of many who threw a tantrum, accusing the court and its “political whores” of having “betrayed democracy” and insisting that “it must be dissolved.”
Leftist activist Elie Mystal took to X to call for the court to be “stopped” before suggesting that progressive Justices Elena Kagan, Sonia Sotomayor, and Ketanji Brown Jackson might have been “bullied” into concurring and that the entire bench was “just making sh-t up as they go along, with their only North Star being: PROTECT TRUMP AT ALL COSTS.”
To be fair, the liberal trio issued a concurrence in which they all but admitted they had hoped there was another pathway that the deep state could prevent Trump from appearing on the ballot.
But sure, Sotomayor, Kagan, and Jackson are secretly the bench’s biggest MAGA fans.
