It’s the question Americans are asking after it was announced Sunday via a letter posted by Biden’s X account that the president will not be seeking reelection this fall.

While the communique noted that Biden will “speak to the Nation later this week in more detail” about the decision, Americans have not personally heard from their president about his abrupt exit from the 2024 race. A “week ahead guidance” released by the White House on Monday showed Biden had no public events scheduled for that day and noted that “[a]dditional details” about his schedule for the rest of the week will be “forthcoming.”

The entire situation has essentially left Americans to play a high-stakes version of “Where’s Waldo?”

Sunday’s announcement came amid an onslaught of calls from Democrats, media, and leftist celebrities for Biden to step down as the nominee. Biden initially rebuffed calls to resign and pledged to remain in the race to take on Donald Trump this November.
